Plasma levels of cytokines and chemokines between NPC patients and healthy donors were compared, and the results showed that the expression levels of most cytokines and chemokines are increase in NPC patients but only 10 of 19 have statistical significances, namely IFN-γ (P<0.001), IL-1b (P = 0.01), IL-6 (P<0.001), MCP-1 (P<0.001), TNF-α (P<0.001), FKN (P<0.001), IL-12P70 (P<0.001), IL-2 (P = 0.001), IL-5 (P<0.001), IP-10 (P = 0.04) (Fig 1A and 1B). The gene discussed is CX3CL1; the disease is nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
