Multivariable-adjusted Cox analysis additionally adjusting for cardiovascular risk factors, lipid lowering therapy, angiographic coronary artery disease, and C-reactive protein demonstrated patients in the highest NGAL quartile being at increased risk for cardiovascular (HR1.34, 95%CI 1.06–1.69) and all cause mortality (HR 1.30 (95%CI 1.08–1.56) compared to those in the third quartile.
