GNA11 and neoplasm: The most severe clinical manifestation of GNA11 mutations is uveal melanoma, which is a malignant tumor arising from the melanocytes of the choroid plexus, ciliary body, and iris and which is caused by somatic mutations of the Arg183 and Qln209 Gα11 residues that lead to constitutive upregulation of MAPK signaling (24).
