Sensitivity analysis showed that, when controlling for neuroticism, the associations between tiredness and polygenic profile scores for BMI, obesity, type 2 diabetes, cholesterol (HDL and LDL), C-reactive protein, HbA1c, triglycerides, waist–hip ratio, childhood cognitive ability and schizophrenia remained significant (after FDR correction), indicating that these associations are not wholly confounded by scores for neuroticism. This evidence concerns the gene CRP and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
