Nonetheless, the OT cohort displayed higher frequency of mutations in SOX9, maintaining the intestinal cell progenitors pool, (13 versus 4% in TCGA), and in TP53 (71 versus 51% in TCGA) (Supplementary Fig. 3a,b) (Fisher's exact test, Benjamini–Hochberg (BH) adjusted P=0.04 and 0.02, respectively) overrepresented in stages III and IV (Fisher's exact test, P=0.012) and often homozygous in hyperploid tumours (Student's t-test, P=0.0008). This evidence concerns the gene TP53 and neoplasm.
