NT-proBNP levels increased with age (r = 0.52; p < 0.001), were higher in patients with CKD than in those without (238.5 [IQR 115.0–554.8] versus 44.0 [IQR 24.3–101.0] pg/ml; p < 0.001) and were inversely correlated with eGFR (r = −0.50; p < 0.001). Here, NPPB is linked to chronic kidney disease.
