While numerous nuclei in the adult mouse brain express Cd24, we considered it noteworthy that many of them (such as the amygdala, SNpc, RN, PPN, PBl, LC, and DmnV) are sites of major pathology in PD [28], while others low in expression (e.g. VTA) are relatively well preserved in this condition. Here, CD24 is linked to Parkinson disease.
