Based on our results in this study, immunohistochemical staining and RT-PCR both showed enhanced expression of mTOR protein in the IH+I/R group at each time point (6h and 24h) compared with the I/R group, which indicated that intermittent hypoxia could activate mTOR signal pathway and deteriorate nerve injury after cerebral ischemia. The gene discussed is MTOR; the disease is Cerebral ischemia.
