In that regard, Parkinsonism‐associated deglycase (DJ‐1/PARK7) that was detected in all our samples is not only an oxidative stress sensor (van der Merwe et al., 2015), but also a chaperone that inhibits protein aggregation, such as α‐synuclein (Shendelman et al., 2004). This evidence concerns the gene PARK7 and Parkinson disease.
