The serum interleukin (IL)-6, IL-10, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β levels increased by 18, 32, 10 and 52%, respectively, in the HF group compared with the NC group (Fig. 4A–D), and the adiponectin concentration decreased by 32% (P < 0.05) (Fig. 4F).
