Interestingly, the brain-specific expressions of both RP1-269M15.3 and TOX2 were highly correlated (r ≥ .70) with a number of depression-related genes (e.g., LRFN5, GRM7, CRH) (47, 48) in brain development (http://brainspan.org) (Supplemental Tables S14 and S15), suggesting that the expression networks involving those genes were potential targets of the effects from candidate variants. Here, LRFN5 is linked to depressive disorder.
