SLC34A2 and breast cancer: This finding is based on evidence as below: first, miR-214 has a conserved binding site in the 3'-UTR of SLC34A2; second, the luciferase activity of SLC34A2 3'-UTR reporter is specifically responsive to increased miR-214 but non-reactive to miR-214-mut; third, the overexpression of miR-214 reduced the expression of SLC34A2; and fourth, miR-214 is downregulated in BC cells.
