In prostate cancer the expression of TRPV6 was positively correlated to the Gleason score [3, 4], tumor grade [5] and extra-prostatic growth [6] to a degree that these authors, in the early 2000s, recognized the potential of TRPV6 in diagnosis and prognosis of prostate cancer, and as a target for therapy. This evidence concerns the gene TRPV6 and Familial prostate cancer.
