Because BRAF + MEK inhibitor combination therapy is replacing BRAF inhibitor monotherapy and emerging as the standard targeted therapy in BRAFV600E mutant melanoma, [20–22] we sought to test whether HGF could rescue BRAFV600E mutant G361 cells from treatment with dabrafenib and trametinib (selective BRAF and MEK inhibitors approved for use in combination to treat metastatic BRAFV600E mutant melanoma). The gene discussed is BRAF; the disease is melanoma.
