Interestingly, we found co-incubation with one specific blocker targeting the TS2 ARE motifs (AUUA and AUUUA), which binds miR-155-5p at the seeding region and the centered site, dose-dependently reversed AntagomiR-155-5p-induced inhibition of RhoA mRNA expression, suggesting that this specific ARE region of 3′-UTR of RhoA mRNA is a functional target of miR-155-5p in serum starved colon cancer cells. The gene discussed is RHOA; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
