Very recently, Bex4 gene has been reported to be epigenetically silenced in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and overexpression of Bex4 reduced OSCC proliferation in vitro and subcutaneous tumor volume in Bex4 overexpressing CAL27 mouse xenograft models in vivo33. This evidence concerns the gene BEX4 and oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma.
