CD4 and sarcoidosis: Oswald et al. [7] found that the CD4+ and/or CD8+ T cells isolated from the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid of patients with sarcoidosis were more likely than the T cells from the control patients to be stimulated by mycobacterial ESAT-6 protein, whereas the response to P. acnes proteins was similar between the T cells of the sarcoidosis group and the T cells of the control group.
