PCa vs control comparisons revealed some startling increases of mRNA levels of: ETV1, a gene that directs androgen metabolism and confers aggressive PCa [23]; FASN, a fatty acid metabolism gene highly up-regulated in PCa [31]; RBM39, a gene implicated in colorectal and breast cancer progression [32, 33]. The gene discussed is RBM39; the disease is posterior cortical atrophy.
