These findings, together with the similar frequencies of IFN-γ-expressing innate CD8(+) T cells, upon TCR engagement in HD (7.8% ± 6.4; n = 7) and CML-CP patients (9.1% ± 2.3; n = 7) (Figure S3 in Supplementary Material), would appear to imply that the functional deficiencies of innate CD8(+) T cells in CML-CP patients affect innate rather than adaptive immune responses.
