Unlike the previous study, which shows that the increased IL-17 is mainly produced by γδ T cells during early E. coli infection (25), we observed a higher percentage of CD3+CD4+IL-17+ cells in the jejunum from ETEC-infected mice as compared with uninfected mice, while the percentage of CD3+TCR γδ+IL-17+ cells in the jejunum did not differ between ETEC-infected mice and control mice (Figures 1H,I). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is escherichia coli infection.
