CD4 and infection: Only one top‐ranking neutralizing donor exhibited a CD4‐binding site dependent bnAb response, while many donors made type‐specific CD4‐binding site responses,7 in agreement with other studies.60 However, it should be noted that CD4‐binding site bnAbs typically display very high levels of somatic hypermutation, which may necessitate a longer post‐infection time period to develop than typically studied.
