VEGFA and preeclampsia: In some recent studies, results have also shown that this elevated concentration of serum VEGF has increased to the level similar to that of the normal pregnant females without preeclampsia, leading authors to assume that the primary source of the elevated concentration of serum VEGF lies basically in the foetus and the placenta and with removal of the placenta and the foetus the level of serum VEGF will also revert to normal.
