Although no difference was observed between patients and healthy controls with respect to CD4+ and CD8+ T cell frequency gated as percentage of the lymphoid gate (Fig. 1B), a lower frequency of CD4+ T cells was noted in adenocarcinoma patients when gated as percentage of the CD45+ gate, and a similar trend was seen for CD8+ T cells, fitting with the observation that the percentage of lymphoid cells is decreased, whereas the percentage of myeloid cells is increased (Fig. S2). The gene discussed is CD8A; the disease is adenocarcinoma.
