Nuclear factor-erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2), also known as NF-E2-like 2 (NFE2L2), plays an essential role in the cellular defense against various inflammatory and oxidative stress-induced diseases, including osteoporosis, which is a transcription factor that binds to antioxidant response element and regulates the production of multiple anti-oxidative enzymes [7–11]. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and osteoporosis.
