This finding partly explains the previously demonstrated effect of RBM3 on cisplatin sensitivity (inhibition of CHK1 exhibits a great impact on cisplatin response in ovarian cancer cells [51]) and that RBM3 overexpression is associated with a good prognosis in various cancers, because the invasion and metastatic spread of cancers may be inhibited by a deficient DNA repair system. This evidence concerns the gene CHEK1 and ovarian carcinoma.
