Overall, as stated in the meta-analysis of Eng et al. [42], compared with basal bolus insulin regimens, the combination of basal insulin and a GLP-1 receptor agonist leads to a mean reduction in HbA1c of −0.1% (−0.17 to −0.02%), with a lower relative risk of hypoglycemia (0.67; 0.56 to 0.80) and a reduction in mean weight loss (−5.66 kg; −9.8 to −1.51). This evidence concerns the gene GLP1R and Hypoglycemia.
