MALAT-1 is highly expressed in CRC and it can promote the phosphorylation of serine and arginine rich splicing factor 1 (SRSF1), catalyzed by SRSF protein kinase 1-to increase the expression of A-kinase anchoring protein 9, and therefore promotes cell proliferation, invasion and metastasis in CRC [37, 38]. This evidence concerns the gene MALAT1 and colorectal carcinoma.
