HRH1 and asthma: Since heterotrimeric G-proteins containing Gαq couple to multiple GPCRs (e.g. the histamine H1 receptor, M1/3 muscarinic receptors, leukotriene receptors, or protease-activated receptors (PARs)) that play key roles in asthma pathogenesis, a role for RGS2 as an “anti-asthma” gene is predicted.
