Considering the importance of TGF-β1 in modulating immunity and the abnormal proinflammatory polarization of B cells of MS patients [5, 6, 13, 17], inefficient production of TGF-β1 by B cells may be associated with an increased risk of developing MS or driving new relapsing MS disease activity. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is myeloid sarcoma.
