Aberrant spontaneous, diastolic Ca2+ leakage from the sarcoplasmic reticulum due to point mutation on type 2 ryanodine receptors (RyR2) contributes to formation of delayed after-depolarization (DAD) which leads to heart failure and catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT)15. Here, RYR2 is linked to catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia.
