The role of BCAA in metastatic brain cancer survival is further supported by studies that found higher sensitivity in tracing (Adina-Zada et al., 2012) C-BCAA for brain metastasis imaging compared to the glucose analog tracer (Tillmann and Eschrich, 1998) FDG, suggesting high levels of BCAA uptake by brain metastatic cancer cells (Chen, 2007; Kitajima et al., 2008; Bochev et al., 2012; Manohar et al., 2013). Here, ARID4B is linked to brain cancer.
