The impact of IL-1 beta C-511 T polymorphism on amyloid beta immunoreactivity in the brains of patients with AD [55] or amyloid beta levels in the cerebral spinal fluid of patients with AD [56] suggest the important role of this polymorphism in modulating the pathology of AD, although findings regarding C-511 T polymorphism on the susceptibility to AD or the effect on AD onset age have been inconsistent [14, 55–58].
