The major results of this study were: 1) OVX impaired endothelium-mediated vasodilationin hypertensive rats, which may be associated with an increase in ROS production; 2)engaging in chronic SW can prevent the endothelial dysfunction that is promoted by theOVX, and 3) the prevention of endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress observed inhypertensive OVX rats could be mediated by antioxidant effects through increases incoronary expression of SOD-2 and catalase, which could lead to a reduction in oxidativestress, but increases were not observed in the cardiac activities of these enzymes. Here, CAT is linked to endothelial dysfunction.
