The ability of warfarin to inhibit AR transcriptional activity was not limited to HEK293 cells as it also inhibited AR activity in a dose-dependent fashion in LNCaP cells, which are derived from human prostate cancer metastases, BPH-1 cells, which are immortalized benign human prostate epithelial cells [20], and E8 cells, which are derived from localized prostate tumors from Pten knock-out mice [21] (Figure 1D).
