These data, together with the observation that when their expression was tested in HNSCC TCGA, the three miRNAs were upregulated in the Cl2-mesenchymal subtype, while the five genes were upregulated in the Cl3-hypoxia subtype, strongly support the hypothesis that these miRNAs and their regulated genes have a pivotal role in HSNCC progression and sensitivity to therapy.
