IL17A and tuberculosis: We evidenced that Mtb-Ag stimulated PBMCs from AA TB secreted the highest levels of IL-17A, the lowest levels of IFN-γ, expressed the lowest levels of SLAM in CD3+ T cells and had the lowest proliferation index in comparison with GG TB, suggesting they display a weaker immunity against Mtb. In fact, we also found evidence that associated the AA genotype in TB with clinical parameters of disease severity.
