The cumulative risk for breast cancer by age 70 has been reported to 45–60% for BRCA1 mutation carriers and 27–55% for BRCA2 mutation carriers with a corresponding risk for ovarian cancer of 31–59% and 6–16.5% for BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutation carriers, respectively [1, 2]. This evidence concerns the gene BRCA2 and breast carcinoma.
