The major findings of the present cross-sectional study are: 1) GHD is common in CHF, affecting about one-third of mild-to-moderate CHF patients of our study cohort; 2) GHD identifies a subgroup of CHF with a worse clinical status, QoL and depression scores, LV remodeling, and physical performance; 3) GHD status is associated with increased NT-proBNP levels and all-cause mortality. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and depressive disorder.
