The etiology of AKI in children with INS varies, and includes pre-renal failure, acute tubular necrosis (ATN), drug toxicity, like calcineurin inhibitor (CNI), angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, and angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB)-induced toxicity, sepsis, renal vein thrombosis, peritonitis, and interstitial nephritis.5 This evidence concerns the gene ACE and oculocutaneous albinism type 1.
