Screening a panel of ovarian cancer cell lines that included ES2, OVCA194, OVCAR4, OVCAR3, and OVCA420 showed that all of the ovarian lines expressed the 33 kDa form of PIM1 [9], while the breast cancer cell lines, MCF-7, MCF-10A, MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-435 expressed the 44 kDa isoform of PIM1 [9]. The gene discussed is PIM1; the disease is breast carcinoma.
