Food allergies (FA) are defined as an adverse reaction to food mediated by an immunologic mechanism involving specific IgE mechanisms (IgE-mediated), cell-mediated mechanisms (non-IgE-mediated), or both IgE- and cell-mediated mechanisms (mixed IgE- and non-IgE-mediated) [1].
