In assessing the differences between both groups classified according to SKILLD regarding the level of knowledge about diabetes (sufficient versus insufficient), we observed a statistically significant difference in schooling level (6.6 (±5.1) versus 4.5 (±3.8); p=0.011); mean SAHLPA-18 (13.7 (±4.8) versus 11.3 (±5.4); p=0.016); use of insulin (47.6% versus 24.1%; p=0.007); and duration of diabetes (16.5 years (±8.8) versus 11.1 (±8.7); p = 0.001) (Table 1).
