GGTLC1 and cholestasis: There were two in-hospital deaths following AC, one involving a patient with AC with Enterococci and Staphylococcus aureus and the other a patient with AC with E. coli and C. albicans. Notably, patients with biliary MDR bacteria had higher levels of cholestasis, as shown by their alkaline phosphatase (AP) and gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT) levels, but had lower white-blood-cell counts, indicating less severe inflammation (Table 3).
