Pituitary apoplexy has been also described in pituitary tumour patients undergoing hormone stimulation testing (with insulin, TRH, GnRH or GHRH and, more rarely, CRH), probably because of an imbalance between the test-induced metabolic demand and the blood supply modulation within the pituitary tumour [38–49]. This evidence concerns the gene GNRH1 and pituitary tumor.
