In a similar computational permutation analysis as performed above (Figures 1C and S3G), samples with co-occurring BCL9L and TP53 alterations displayed higher wGII scores compared with those with mutually exclusive alterations (Figure 1E, p = 0.007), suggesting that these two genes might cooperate as aneuploidy suppressors in CRC. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
