Carrying the G risk allele of the MTNR1B rs10830963 in any form was associated with substantially higher odds of disease development in the group of patients who could meet both the m99’ WHO and the IADPSG criteria (OR: 2.05, p<10−4, z statistic: 4.17) than in those who could be diagnosed with GDM according to only one of the two criteria (Fig 1). Here, MTNR1B is linked to gestational diabetes.
