In patients with breast cancer, VEGFR2 expression did not correlate with tumor histological grade, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage, or survival.[11] In contrast, patients with bladder cancer who expressed lower levels of VEGFR2 were associated with poorer recurrence-free survival than those who expressed higher levels of VEGFR2.[12] Aucejo et al[13] reported that upregulated VEGFR2 expression was associated with poor differentiation and tumor progression in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. The gene discussed is KDR; the disease is breast cancer.
