It is noteworthy that, because T cell infiltration in the kidney was not diminished by treatment with HCTZ (Fig. 3d), removal of HCTZ regenerated hypertension in mice receiving adoptive transfer of CD8+ T cells (Fig. 3c, red, 129±4.0/155±3.3 mmHg), suggesting an upstream role for renal CD8+ T cells in NCC-blood pressure regulation.
