HSPA8 and Parkinson disease: Recently, it has been observed that RNA interference against hsc70 results in an up-regulation of asyn mRNA and protein levels, a condition that is likely to favor protein accumulation and aggregation typical of PD (Sala et al., 2016), suggesting again that the observed down-regulation of CMA effectors observed in PD brains may be a key-condition for a deadly accumulation of toxic substrates, especially asyn, within dopaminergic neurons.
