CXCL2 and rheumatoid arthritis: Specifically, Cat C knockout mice are completely resistant to acute arthritis in a collagen-induced rheumatoid arthritis model (Adkison et al., 2002; Hu and Pham, 2005) and a lack of Cat C alleviates development of experimental abdominal aortic aneurysms by reducing the release of CXC-chemokine ligand (CXCL)2 (Pagano et al., 2007; Shi, 2007).
